I am a 1980 WSU undergrad with a graduate degree from the University of Cincinnati. Played on the WSU men's varsity volleyball team in '78 (MVP) and
'79 - team captain both years. Yes, it was varsity status, not club. The pictures hang in the Nutter. Played in the volleyball national championship (used
to be USVBA now USA volleyball) tournament, Open Division, two years with the WPAFB team. Continued playing Open VB for years. After college, taught high
school and coached high school varsity volleyball. Won district titles four times and went to State once in five years. Also coached wrestling and had a
heavyweight finish second in the State one year. One of my fun bits of trivia is that I coached two different sports and played college level in St. John's
Arena at OSU. After leaving teaching, I coached my daughter's junior olympic volleyball team for 4 years taking the team to the Asics national championship
tournament twice. For the past 10 years I have coached my high school boy twins' select soccer team. Our team has won tournaments in Indianapolis,
Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton (Creek Classic). My sons and I also ref soccer tournaments. In my spare time I play golf and I road in the MS150 (150 miles)
bike ride in July 2003 + 2004. Sports activities have been cut off since I was in a bad car accident 5/6/05. The doctors say that I will not be able to play
volleyball or even jog much any more. The past three years I have been coaching the Cincinnati Attack boys volleyball (2005) 17's, (2006) 18's (2007)
15's. We have won the Ohio Valley Regional tournament as well as the Gateway Tournament in St. Louis (2005). In 2005 we were the only 17's team in Ohio
to qualify to play at In 2006 the team finished fifth at nationals losing only one match in the tournament.
